The first wine from Dan’s vineyard atop Mount Bruno in the Warby Ranges, and at 400m above sea level, the highest in the region. Dry and unyielding, Dan chose this site to plant a small, experimental vineyard of white varieties that captured his interest. Just a few hundred vines, completely tended by hand – the result is a tiny parcel of fruit that we fashion into a flavoursome field blend.
Pretty sure we have a world first blend here of Gewurztraminer, Verdejo, Moscato Giallo, Semillon and Gruner Veltliner. Hand picked on the same day, and wild co-fermented ahead of six months time in tank. Picked early for a racy, fine and flinty feel, delicate citrus and honeysuckle characters with a lick of musk and sherbet spice courtesy of the Gewurztraminer (or so we guess). No acid additions, bottled unfiltered.
